Ventura Flea Market

Looking for a bargain, unique gift or other something special? Visit the Ventura Flea Market at the Ventura County Fairgrounds Sun, Jan 27, 2013.Are you always on the hunt for a good bargain?  Does your Ventura home need a makeover but you’re on a budget?  Then, you simply must visit the Ventura Flea Market.

Held only a few times a year, the Ventura Flea Market offers everything from plants to furniture and clothes to crafts.  The next Ventura Flea Market will be held on Sunday, January 27th from 9am to 2pm at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.  Whether you’re looking for artwork to decorate your living room, need to pick up some new or gently used clothing for growing children or want to find a piece of jewelry that is as unique as your honey for Valentine’s Day, the Ventura Flea Market will have something for you.  That’s why thousands of buyers flock to the fairgrounds every time the flea market is held.

Admission is just $5 per person.  Just like the Post Office, neither snow nor rain nor heat nor whatever will keep the Ventura Flea Market from its appointed rounds.  Bundle up if you have to and be ready to do some serious shopping!

Sow in the New Year Ventura

Sow in the New Year by planting wildflowers at the Ventura Botanical Gardens this Sat, Jan 5th from 10am to 2pm.Baby New Year may have been ushered in a couple of days ago, but you still have a chance to celebrate 2013.  The Ventura Botanical Gardens is hosting a Sow in the New Year event this Saturday, January 5th. This will be your chance as a Ventura resident to continue to make our fair city a beautiful place to live.

Beginning at 10am, residents and visitors to the City of Ventura are welcome to come to Grant Park on Ferro Drive where, for $5, you will be given wildflower seeds to plant along the brand new Demonstration Trail.  Learn how to plant and care for wildflowers in your own Ventura home garden from experts in the field.  Sow in the New Year ends at 2pm.  After you’re done planting, feel free to take the family on a hike on the trail.  There is plenty of beautiful scenery to take in along the way.

Seeds can either be purchased at the Ventura Botanical Gardens on the day of the event or they can be bought ahead of time online here.  If you purchase your seeds online, you will only be able to pick them up at the garden on January 5th.  Sow in the New Year in Ventura with a splash of natural color.  Bring the entire family and make a day of it.
