2013 Ventura County Pet Adopt-a-Thon

Take home a puppy, kitty, cat, dog, bunny or reptile on July 28th at Camarillo Animal Shelter's 2013 Ventura County Pet Adopt-a-Thon event. Tons of food and activities, too!For many American households, animals have become a way of life.  Studies show that children who grow up with family pets tend to have higher self-esteem, develop better nurturing skills and have better social skills than their peers who do not.  Animals are not just pets.  They really do become members of the family.  At the 2013 Ventura County Pet Adopt-a-Thon, you can give a wayward animal a loving home.

What: 2013 Ventura County Pet Adopt-a-Thon
Where: Camarillo Animal Shelter (600 Aviation Way, Camarillo)
When: Sunday, July 28th 9am to 4pm
Admission: FREE (1/2 price adoptions)

Search the MLS for Ventura County homes for saleCome to the Camarillo Animal Shelter on Saturday and Sunday, July 27th and 28th, for the 2013 Ventura County Pet Adopt-a-Thon.  The shelter saw a huge increase in displaced animals over the 4th of July weekend.  Unfortunately, many of these animals have not been claimed by their owners.  In addition to cats, dogs, puppies and kitties, rabbits and reptiles will be ready for adoption as well.

All adoptions at the 2013 Ventura County Pet Adopt-a-Thon are half price.  Cats and dogs will be available for just $60 and bunnies can be taken home for just $50 each.  You can even bring your own dog or cat to the Adopt-a-Thon for a $6 rabies shot.  There will be a special on micro-chipping July 28th as well ($10 per animal).  Micro-chipping helps locate a lost pet much faster so they can get home safe and sound.

Adoption counselors will be on-site to answer any of your questions and show you the animals available for adoption.  Even if you aren’t ready to adopt right away, bring the family down to enjoy food, live entertainment, face painting, balloon animals, arts and crafts, snow cones and more.  There will be a silent auction as well as search and rescue demonstrations from local Ventura County specialists.

At last year’s adoption event, more than 90 animals were adopted to loving Ventura County homes.  This year, the Camarillo Animal Shelter hopes to place at least 100 animals.  Please come to the 2013 Ventura County Pet Adopt-a-Thon on Sunday, July 28th from 9am to 4pm.  Whether you give a furry friend a home or not, your support is greatly appreciated.
