Downtown Ventura 2015 Halloween Spooktacular

Why wait until the 31st for a scary good time? The Downtown Ventura 2015 Halloween Spooktacular is sure to get you excited for the big day.Halloween is just 16 days away.  Last week, we told you all about the Ventura County pumpkin patches that are now open for business.  If you live in our wonderful Ventura community, make sure you visit one before October 31st.  There are other ways to celebrate All Hallow’s Eve.  Get yourself into the spirit early by visiting the downtown Ventura 2015 Halloween Spooktacular.

Search homes for sale in Ventura CountyConsider the Downtown Ventura 2015 Halloween Spooktacular as a dress rehearsal for Halloween night.  Kids from age 2 to 102 are more than welcome to dress up and join in on the fun.  There will be carnival games and an inflatable jumpers.  Take your family on a scavenger hunt.  Get your face painted.  Visit the junior haunted house for a spooky good time.

All guests are invited to participate in the costume contest.  It will be broken down into five different age groups: infant to 3, 4 to 7, 8 to 12, 13 to 17 and 18+.  Downtown Ventura Partners and Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop have partnered up to sponsor this fun contest.  The fantastic footwork of the Got Rhythm dancers will keep the audience entertained in between category changes.  Do you have what it takes to be a winner?  Prove it!  Join in for free.

From 4pm to 7pm, take the kiddoes trick-or-treating through Downtown Ventura businesses.  There will be a raffle and silent auction set up at the Downtown Ventura 2015 Halloween Spooktacular.  Bid on some amazing prizes that have been generously donated by local businesses and individuals.  All proceeds from the Spooktacular will benefit Open Classroom.  As part of the Ventura Unified School District, staff of the Open Classroom believe in educating the child as a whole.  They aren’t all about “the numbers”.  They believe a well-rounded child will become a more productive member of society.  And that benefits everybody.

2015 Ventura County Pumpkin Patches Are Now Open

The 2015 Ventura County Pumpkin Patches are now open and ready for business. Since uncarved pumpkins last for months, it's not too early to pick one up.What does October mean in our Ventura community?  The weather starts to turn crispy cool at night.  Hot cocoa and warm apple cider will replace icy concoctions as the drinks of choice.  And, of course, there’s Halloween.  On that note, several 2015 Ventura County Pumpkin Patches are now open and ready for business.

What: Big Wave Dave’s Pumpkin Patch
Where: 4075 Telegraph Rd, Ventura & 3865 State St Rte, Santa Barbara

One of the biggest 2015 Ventura County Pumpkin Patches is Big Wave Dave’s.  There are two convenient locations to serve the public: Ventura and Santa Barbara.  Here, you’ll find pumpkins both big and small.  Kids can try out games specifically meant for them and win prizes.  They have everything from hay bales to ornamental gourds, Indian corn to corn stalks.  Whatever you need for your fall decor, Big Wave Dave’s got it!  If you like what you see, come back after Thanksgiving to pick up your Christmas tree from Big Wave Dave.

Search homes for sale in Ventura CountySure, you’ll find pumpkins here.  But you can also take a hayride on the weekends.  Children can wander through the hay maze absolutely free of charge.  For a spooky twist, visit the pumpkin patch after dark on Fridays and Saturday (7pm to 9pm) starting October 9th.  That’s when the Haunted Hayrides take place.

Pumpkin, pumpkins.  Everywhere pumpkins!  Tis the season for pumpkins.  Pick yours up at this organic pumpkin patch.  Take a stroll through the green maze.  While you’re here, pick up some lovely squash, tomatoes, onions and peppers for dinner.

Prancer is well known as one of Santa’s reindeer. But did you know that he also has a pumpkin patch?  It’s one of the 2015 Ventura County Pumpkin Patches that are now open for business.  You get so much more than a pumpkin patch here, though.  There are hay rides, carnival rides, face painting, a petting zoo and even a hay pyramid!

Those are just a few of the 2015 Ventura County Pumpkin Patches you and your family can attend.  Worried that it’s too early to pick up your pumpkin for Halloween?  Don’t be.  As long as it’s stored between 50-55F and left uncarved, your pumpkin will be fresh as a daisy when you carve it up for Halloween later.
