June has come to an end. Our nation’s 240th birthday takes place on Monday. With the long weekend ahead, some venues in our Ventura County community start celebrating early. Chances are that, no matter where you happen to be this holiday weekend, there will be fireworks. Listed below are the Ventura County July 4th 2016 fireworks shows you can choose from.
Ventura County July 4th 2016 Fireworks Shows
CAMARILLO
Where: Camarillo High School (4660 Mission Oaks Blvd)
When: July 4th, 4pm
Cost: $2 per person, kids 5 or under FREE
Gates open at 4pm. Fireworks start at 9pm. Until tomorrow, tickets can be purchased at City Hall or the Pleasant Valley Parks & Rec office on Burnley. If you can’t get your tickets ahead of time, they will also be available at the gate on Monday. Cash only, though. Festivities include live music and kids’ activities. Help the Pleasant Valley/Camarillo Lions Club raise funds for their philanthropic work by purchasing hamburgers or hot dogs from them at the school. Everyone is welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets and coolers (no alcohol).
OJAI
Where: Nordhoff High School (1401 Maricopa Way)
When: July 4th, 5pm, Fireworks at 9:15am

OXNARD
Where: Channel Islands Harbor
When: July 4th, Parade at 10:30am, Boat Parade at 4pm, Fireworks at 9pm
Admission: FREE
The Channel Islands Harbor parade starts at 10:30am. Watch as dozens of patriotic-themed scooters, wagons, strollers, floats and cars wind their way down Harbor Blvd between Albacore and Cabezone Circle. An electric boat parade is scheduled at 4pm. Fireworks will be shot off from the parking lot at 3900 Pelican Way at 9pm. Anyplace along the harbor offers a great view of the show.
VENTURA
Where: Ventura College Athletic Field (4667 Telegraph Rd)
When: July 4th, Gates open at 5pm, Fireworks start at 9pm
Cost: $6/person ages 13+, $4/person ages 4-12, Kids under 4 FREE

Lawn chairs, blankets and cooler are welcome. But, please leave pets, glass containers and alcohol at home. Security will be on hand to check any bags brought to the venue. Therefore, you may only want to bring the absolute essentials with you.
These are just a few of the Ventura County July 4th 2016 fireworks shows scheduled for Monday evening. Start your day off with the Channel Islands parade. Then, have a picnic in the park. Finally, finish things off with fireworks in Camarillo. That’s a busy yet satisfying day for sure.

2016 Camarillo Car Show and Food Truck Rally
There is nothing quite like the look of a classic car. They just don’t make them like that anymore. If you are a fan of vintage automobiles, you might want to visit the Camarillo Ranch House on Sunday, June 26th for the 2016 Camarillo Car Show and Food Truck Rally.

2016 Camarillo Car Show and Food Truck Rally
The Camarillo Ranch House Foundation will be hosting their 2016 Camarillo Car Show and Food Truck Rally right at their beautiful tree-lined facilities. Visitors will see vintage Mercedes vehicles as well as other pre-1990s classics of all makes and models. If you have a vintage car that you would like to show off at the show, please download the 2016 Camarillo Car Show entry form here, fill it out and return it to the Camarillo Ranch Foundation via snail mail, email or fax (details provided on the form).
While the 2016 Camarillo Car Show and Food Truck Rally is open to all ages, adults (aged 21+) might be particularly interested in the craft beer and wine sampling going on at the show. Everyone will be happy with the food truck fare. General admission is just $10 per person. VIP tickets are necessary for the beer and wine sampling. All VIPs will receive a plastic tasting cup. However, the first 500 VIPs to check in at the car show will receive a special commemorative mug.

It’s almost summer! In our Camarillo community, that means warm days and cool nights. That’s perfect weather to enjoy Camarillo Summer Concerts in the Park 2016. Constitution Park is THE PLACE to be if you are looking for a relaxing way to spend a Saturday evening with your loved ones.

Camarillo Summer Concerts in the Park 2016
The Camarillo Arts Council is hosting several Camarillo Summer Concerts in the Park 2016. Every other Saturday from the beginning of June to September, the Performing Arts Pavilion at Constitution Park is transformed into an outdoor musical wonderland. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs and even picnic dinners. Get there early to pick a good spot. Seating is on a first come/first served basis. Don’t want to bring food with you? That’s fine. Various non-profit organizations sell concessions at each concert.
There are a few “do’s” and “don’ts” involved when going to one of the Camarillo Summer Concerts in the Park 2016. Follow these guidelines and everyone will have a good time. Do use low back chairs so that you don’t block other people’s views. Don’t bring your pets (guide dogs are OK). Do keep your kids under control. Don’t climb the trees. Do be courteous to those around you. Don’t block the aisles. Do donate (optional) to help keep events like this going for free to the public. Don’t smoke or use plastic tarps. Do properly dispose of your trash in the designated bins around the pavilion. Don’t use an open flame at the park (ie, BBQ). Do enjoy yourself.
