2018 Ventura County Wine and Food Experience
This year’s celebrity chef at the 2018 Ventura County Wine and Food Experience is Chicago-based Graham Elliott. This four-star, double Michelin star, award-winning chef owns and operates several restaurants around the world. But you probably know him best as a celebrity judge on the “MasterChef”, “MasterChef Jr”, and “Top Chef” TV shows. He’s not the only talent at this festival, though. Representatives from more than 30 local area restaurants show off their skills with sumptuous food tastings. And, to top it all off, guests enjoy samplings of fabulous local wines and craft beers as well.
If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to cook or find out more about fine wine, you’re in luck. Two wine seminars and a cooking demonstration will be performed at the Camarillo Hangar throughout the afternoon. Seating is only available on a first come-first served basis. Get there early so you don’t miss a thing.
As you can imagine, the 2018 Ventura County Wine and Food Experience enforces a “21 and over only” restriction. No children (even in strollers or carriers) or pets (other than official service animals) will be allowed on the premises.

Ventura Art & Street Painting Festival 2018
Ventura Harbor Village provides a wonderful backdrop to the two-day event known as Ventura Art & Street Painting Festival 2018. All along the waterfront, 45 artists use the sidewalk as their canvas to create amazing temporary works of art. Fifty local artists set up booths around the village to showcasing their pottery, paintings, photographs, handmade jewelry, and other goods as well. Some of these items will be available to purchase during the festival. Money raised from booth rentals and corporate sponsorships benefit our local FOOD Share food bank.
FOOD Share
Since 2011, the Ventura Art & Street Painting Festival has raised more than $32,000 for FOOD Share. Believe it or not, one in six people living in Ventura County experience food insecurity on a regular basis. This includes working families that don’t make enough to put dinner on the table every night. FOOD Share helps bridge this gap to ensure healthy food goes where it is needed most. They do so through programs such as Senior Kits (for the elderly), FOOD Share & Friends Mobile Pantry (bringing food to areas that don’t have ready access to a brick-and-mortar food bank), and the Kids’ Farmers Market (providing nutrition education and fresh produce to children). If you’d like to donate, please visit FOOD Share’s website here to set up a one-time or monthly recurring donation.
