Ventura Mulch Madness 2019

Search Ventura County homes for saleMulch keeps more moisture in your soil while also enriching it with nutrients and suppressing weed growth. Since water is such a precious commodity in California, it helps to learn every possible way we can lower our water consumption, especially when it comes to gardening.

During any of the three half-hour Mulch Madness classes offered on March 30th, students learn how to create their own composting material at home. Attendees of the classes also receive free pre-bagged mulch to take home with them. The mulch will only be available while supplies last. So, we suggest getting there for one of the earlier classes.

Ventura Harbor Village Mermaid Month 2019

Mermaid folklore stretches all the way back to ancient Assyrian times (roughly 2500 BC). Christopher Columbus reported seeing them while sailing the Caribbean in the 1400s. One played the title character in Hans Christian Anderson’s 1836 tome “The Little Mermaid” as well as the 1989 movie based on the HCA novel. Celebrate this ancient mystical creature in all its glory during Ventura Harbor Village Mermaid Month 2019.

Ventura Harbor Village Mermaid Month 2019 includes several fun activities, games, specials, and so much more throughout March, including meet and greets with a live mermaid.

Ventura Harbor Village Mermaid Month Meet and Greets

Search Ventura County homes for saleOn three Saturdays this month (March 9th, 23rd, and 30th), guests of Ventura Harbor Village have the opportunity to meet a live mermaid. She’s even agreed to pose for photos. Just visit the village between 1 pm and 4 pm on the designated dates and don’t forget your camera!

Ventura Harbor Village Mermaid Month Games & Activities

Every Friday during March, Barefoot Boutique offers a sea glass necklace-making class at their facility. Use mermaids as your inspiration to create a one-of-a-kind necklace to proudly display around your neck and take home with you. Contact the boutique at (805) 798-2029 to reserve your spot in the class today.

Every Saturday and Sunday of the month, between 1 pm and 4 pm, the Mermaid Gallery invites kids to color at their coloring activity table. While you peruse through artist Tina O’Brien’s mermaid-inspired artwork, the kids contentedly remain busy coloring in a special area of the gallery.

Ultimate Escape Rooms celebrates mermaid month with their Mermaids Curse Room. For just $20 per person, each group tries to figure several clues that lead to their escape within the designated time limit. Available Monday through Thursday only. Make sure to use promo code: MERMAIDMONTH to receive the special discounted offer. Call (805) 256-6600 to book your escape room today.

Ventura Harbor Village Mermaid Month Eats & Treats

When you get hungry during Mermaid Month, grab a Sea Dog at The Parlor. This ooey-gooey, cheesy hot dog gets topped with tasty bacon bits. Or chow down on the Merman’s Fish Burger, only available during March. For dessert? How does a Sea Monster oreo shake sound? Coastal Cone serves up Mermaid cones (a fish cone with multi-colored sprinkles on top) as well as Pineapple Mermaid Floats and Mermaid’s Dream Sundae. For the adults, Harbor Cove Cafe added an Aquaman Cocktail to their menu. This delicious drink consists of Soju Gin, Blue Curacao, lemon, and soda water.

Visit the Ventura Harbor Village anytime throughout March to celebrate Mermaid Month. Once it ends, so do the mermaid-inspired specials.
