Ventura Bowl of Thanks 2019

Search Ventura County homes for saleThe amazing artists at the Ventura County Potters Guild created beautiful handmade bowls specifically for the Bowl of Thanks event. Each one-of-a-kind bowl features unique touches you won’t find anywhere else. With the purchase of your bowl, you receive a punch card. This allows you to sample soup prepared by some of our finest local Ventura chefs.

Only 250 bowls have been created for this year’s Bowl of Thanks event. Once they’ve been purchased, that’s it. No more for the year. So, if you want to be a part of this unique fundraiser, visit the VCPG offices on Spinnaker right away to reserve your bowl.

Who Benefits from Bowl of Thanks?

Two local charities receive donations from money raised through the Bowl of Thanks event: the Humane Society of Ventura County and the Ojai Valley Family Shelter. The Humane Society in Ojai is Ventura County’s very first “no-kill” shelter. They provide food and shelter for neglected animals. None of the animals in their care ever get euthanized. But their care comes at a cost. They rely heavily on donations to continue to operate.

The Ojai Valley Family Shelter provides food and shelter to homeless individuals and families in Ventura County. Even through scheduled power outages (like last week), volunteers band together to make sure people get fed. They even bring a mobile shower facility to those in need in the field. They also rely on donations from the public to keep these services open to those in need. So reserve your one-of-a-kind bowl for the Bowl of Thanks event today.

Ventura Brew Fest 2019

Just last month, thousands of folks gathered in our fair city for the Boots & Brews Country Music Festival. The month before that, we enjoyed Ventura Taste 2019, a culinary journey through the finest restaurants and most talented chefs we call our own in Ventura. As you can see, we love our beer, food, and music in Southern California. A brand new festival starts up later this month, the Ventura Brew Fest 2019. And it includes food and music along with that tasty beverage, too.

Sample beer from local brewers, listen to live music, do a bit of shopping and enjoy great food at the very first Ventura Brew Fest 2019 on Oct 19th.

What: Ventura Brew Fest 2019
Where: Mission Park (185 Santa Clara St)
When: Saturday, October 19th, 10:30 am to 3:30 pm
Admission: $15 to $30 tasting bundles

Ventura Brew Fest 2019

Search Ventura County homes for saleIn conjunction with the Ventura 5K & Downtown Mile taking place at the same time and in the same area, the Brew Fest allows spectators to imbibe in some craft beer tasting while they cheer on the racers. Several local breweries plan on participating by bringing their fine ales, lagers, and stouts for festival-goers to sample.

In addition to the beer tasting, food trucks provide delicious meals for a fee. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options will be made available from many of the food vendors. Whatever your diet restrictions may be, the festival should have something for you to enjoy while you’re there. While you eat and drink, start some merrymaking with the rock, blues, and funk groups performing for the gathered crowd throughout the day. And, as if that wasn’t enough, play some fun yard games (all ages welcome). Then, get some shopping done at the local vendor booths set up.

Ticket Information

Admission to the festival itself is absolutely free. However, you must purchase tasting tickets in order to sample any of the beer on-site. Therefore, you must be at least 21 years old to participate in the tasting portion of the festival. Purchase your tasting tickets online before you come to the event. They’re available in 10 and 20 pack bundles. For $15, receive a commemorative beer stein and 10 tasting tickets. Pay $30 for 20 tickets plus the stein. If you wait until the day of the event, you pay $5 more. Save money. Buy your tickets early.
