Ventura Brew Fest 2019

Just last month, thousands of folks gathered in our fair city for the Boots & Brews Country Music Festival. The month before that, we enjoyed Ventura Taste 2019, a culinary journey through the finest restaurants and most talented chefs we call our own in Ventura. As you can see, we love our beer, food, and music in Southern California. A brand new festival starts up later this month, the Ventura Brew Fest 2019. And it includes food and music along with that tasty beverage, too.

Sample beer from local brewers, listen to live music, do a bit of shopping and enjoy great food at the very first Ventura Brew Fest 2019 on Oct 19th.

Several local breweries plan on participating by bringing their fine ales, lagers, and stouts for festival-goers to sample.

In addition to the beer tasting, food trucks provide delicious meals for a fee. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options will be made available from many of the food vendors. Whatever your diet restrictions may be, the festival should have something for you to enjoy while you’re there. While you eat and drink, start some merrymaking with the rock, blues, and funk groups performing for the gathered crowd throughout the day. And, as if that wasn’t enough, play some fun yard games (all ages welcome). Then, get some shopping done at the local vendor booths set up.

Ticket Information

Admission to the festival itself is absolutely free. However, you must purchase tasting tickets in order to sample any of the beer on-site. Therefore, you must be at least 21 years old to participate in the tasting portion of the festival. Purchase your tasting tickets online before you come to the event. They’re available in 10 and 20 pack bundles. For $15, receive a commemorative beer stein and 10 tasting tickets. Pay $30 for 20 tickets plus the stein. If you wait until the day of the event, you pay $5 more. Save money. Buy your tickets early.

Ventura Holiday Tree Lighting 2018

Almost 140 years ago, two Norfolk pine trees were planted at the San Buenaventura Mission. Some say that these trees were donated by a local family. Others believe they were planted to be used at a later date for a captain’s mast. Whatever the case may be, these trees grew to become a local landmark. In fact, you can see them from downtown Ventura as well as the 101 freeway. And in 2000, they became “Millenial Trees” according to the State of California. For the past 80 years, they’ve lit up for the holidays as well as other special days at various times throughout the year. At the Ventura Holiday Tree Lighting 2018, they feature brand new lights.

Not to be outdone, a special fig tree in Mission Park joins the celebration. For the first time ever, this fig tree shows off its lights at the Ventura Holiday Tree Lighting 2018 in conjunction with its two pine tree brethren. Before and after the festivities, guests get to enjoy traditional holiday music, inflatables to play on, dozens of kids activities, and even some snow! The tree itself officially lights up at 6:45 pm. Even Santa promises to stop by for a visit. When you get hungry, pick up something tasty at one of the food booths.

Come out to celebrate the season. Bring your family to the Ventura Holiday Tree Lighting 2018 ceremony. It promises to be lots of fun for everyone.
