The 805 Bar serves a scrumptious chowder with capers and bacon out on their patio. The Greek Mediterranean Steak & Seafood restaurant offers a warm, inviting cup of clam chowder for just $3 when you order one of their amazing seafood entrees. And, of course, Brophy Bros Clam Bar offers some of the best and freshest clam chowder around. They serve it with an amazing slice of sourdough bread that pairs perfectly with this seafood delicacy. So make Ventura Harbor Village your destination of choice for lunch or dinner on February 25th.

Main Street Moves Continues Through 2022

Last year, local restaurants felt the pinch due to COVID-19 restrictions on interior dining. To help try to keep businesses afloat, the Ventura City Council came up with the idea of Main Street Moves. This essentially shut down a six-block area of downtown Ventura to vehicle traffic. It only allowed pedestrians and bicyclists to traverse the streets in between businesses. This allowed local businesses to adhere to COVID-19 restrictions while still accommodating their clientele by moving part of it out onto the sidewalks and street. Originally, the Council set it up as a temporary “fix”. But, it became so popular and successful that they decided to continue it on through to January 2022. Please support our small businesses by shopping and dining locally whenever possible.

2015 Ventura Harbor Village Boat Parade of Lights

Search homes for sale in Ventura CountyThis year’s theme for the 2015 Ventura Harbor Village Boat Parade of Lights is “Surf, Sand and Santa”.  The parade starts at 6:30pm.  But you can come early and get some shopping done first.  Stop off at one of the wonderful seaside restaurants at the harbor and watch while you dine.  Carnival rides will be set up on the Main Lawn.  We’ve been told that Santa is going to make an appearance.  He’s taking last minute requests from good little boys and girls.  Then, if that isn’t enough for you, the parade will end with a brilliant fireworks display overhead at 8pm.

Plan on shopping before the festivities begin?  From 11am to 11pm on both Friday and Saturday, you can take the Downtown Harbor Trolley for free.  It has a set route along the harbor, with several pick up and drop off locations.  That way, you can park in one location before you jet off to the stores and restaurants along the way.  It will even take you right to the 2015 Ventura Harbor Village Boat Parade of Lights.  Afterwards, hop aboard for a trip back to your car.  How awesome is that?  You can view and/or download the Downtown Trolley’s schedule here.

Have you been to one of Ventura’s boat parade of lights before?  Where is the best place to watch it from?  Please let us know in the comments below.
