Ventura Marathon 2025
The race starts in beautiful Ojai Valley. Its primarily downhill course provides a great opportunity for participants to run at a faster pace. In turn, this helps lower your qualifying time for larger races like the Boston Marathon.
If you sign up for the full marathon and decide that you might not be ready to run that distance, you may switch to the half-marathon as long as you do so by 7:59 am on Friday, February 21st, 2025. And vice versa. If you sign up for the half-marathon and feel like you want to try the full marathon instead, you may do so as long as you make the change by that same time via Run Sign Up. there will not be a charge to switch from full to half. However, you will need to pay the difference in price if you move up from the half-marathon to the full marathon.
Runners may run with their children in strollers. However, pets must stay at home. Organizers strongly discourage runners from wearing headphones. This reduces a runner’s awareness of their surroundings, including proximity of other racers as well as emergency vehicles trying to make their way to a fallen runner. The half-marathon comes with a five-hour time limit while the full marathon times out at six hours. No refunds allowed. But if you can’t make it to this year’s race for any reason, you may defer to next year. You simply need to pay the $20 fee.
Health & Fitness Expo
For runners and their cheerleaders, organizers created a health and fitness expo to accompany the race. You will be required to park at the Ventura Fairgrounds. From there, a shuttle takes you to the location of the health & fitness expo near the finish line. In addition to several health-centric vendors, you will find food and a craft beer garden. However, you must be at least 21 years old with a valid photo ID to enter the beer garden. The health and fitness expo opens up at 7:30 am, with the beer garden running opening at 8 am.
