You know them. You love them. California produces the majority of strawberries in the United States each year. In fact, experts place this year’s crop to come in around 1.8 billion pounds. To celebrate the impact of this berry on California’s history, the fairgrounds play host to the annual Ventura Strawberry Festival which just so happens to take place later this month.

Ventura Strawberry Festival 2025
The festival includes tons of strawberry-related activities. These include delicious food such as the usual sweet treats like strawberry shortcake, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and strawberry funnel cake. But if you have never tasted strawberry nachos, noshed on a strawberry pizza, or tried a strawberry tamale, then the Strawberry Festival is a must for you.
But this festival is so much more than food. Dozens of local vendors show off their arts and crafts. Four different stages host a variety of live entertainment throughout the entire weekend. One of these stages, the Family Fun Stage, showcases a baby parade, magic shows, puppet shows, comedy shows, and more. Strawberryland caters to the little ones, with face-painting, kids rides, and interactive science exhibits just to name a few. And, of course, you won’t want to miss the carnival rides. Tickets cost $1 each or purchase 24 for $20. Each ride costs between four and seven tickets.

Tickets cost $15 per person for ages 13+. Active military members and their dependents receive a $5 per person discount at the gate. You must show a valid ID to receive the discount. Also, seniors ages 62 and over pay just $10 per person. Kids ages five to 12 cost $8 each while kids under five years old get in for free with an accompanying paid adult. You may pay at the gate on the day of the event or skip the line and purchase your tickets online here. However, military discounts are only given at the gate and not available online.
