When you think of Southern California architecture, what springs to mind first? Italian villas? Spanish revival? Craftsman? In the historic community of Hobson Heights, you primarily see Spanish and Italian influences. Most homes also feature an incredible ocean and/or city view. But this time of year proves extra special thanks to the Hobson Heights Christmas Lights.

Hobson Heights Christmas Lights 2023
For the next few weekends, Hobson Heights becomes even more beautiful thanks to the special Christmas displays throughout the neighborhood. For example, from 2 pm to 4:30 pm on Saturday, December 9th, bring the kiddos and the fur babies to Jay Ross Dentistry (1691 E Main Street) for coffee, cocoa, and photos with Santa. The Ventura Humane Society will be accepting donations of canned and dry dog and cat food as well as blankets. Come back on Sunday, December 10th from 12 pm to 3 pm to meet some of the dogs up for adoption through CARL (the Canine Adoption and Rescue League). They also accept blankets for donation to their organization. Santa will be on hand from 2 pm to 4:30 pm for photos. Enjoy a free cup of cocoa or hot cider while there, too.
Visit the Community Presbyterian Church the following weekend (December 16th). They host their seasonal open house from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Learn more about the history of the church while sipping your hot cocoa, listening to classic Christmas music, trying your hand at some holiday arts and crafts, and joining in on traditional Christmas carols. Finally, on the Saturday before Christmas (December 23rd), head back over to Jay Ross Dentistry from 2 pm to 4:30 pm for more free photos with Santa. All humans and pets are welcome. Organizers plan on collecting non-perishable food items for our local Food Share. So please, please bring something with you to donate.
