Ventura Unified School District students went back to school last week. But the calendar still says “summer”. And what do we do here in Ventura during the summer? We head to the beach. Thankfully, organizers of the Aloha Beach Festival 2024 think it’s still to early to say good-bye to summer. That’s why their festival takes place later this month.

The Aloha Beach Festival 2024 brings a touch of Hawaii to Southern California through food, music, and more on Aug 31st & Sept 1st at Promenade Park in Ventura. Free admission.

Aloha Beach Festival 2024

Founder Chip Bell, aka “Chipper Bro”, wanted to bring a bit of Hawaii to Southern California while giving back to the local community. This festival brings music, food, information, and a sense of community to Ventura’s Promenade Park for two days. And it costs nothing to attend.

Each day includes live musical concerts from local Rock, Reggae, Ska, and Hawaiian performers. In addition, come watch live demonstrations from the frisbee dogs. Guests also get to watch the paddleboard racing, aloha-style surfing, outrigger canoes, and much, much more. Parking is extremely limited. To avoid fighting for a parking space, you might want to bicycle to the park (if possible) or carpool to minimize as much traffic as possible.

The MERITO Foundation

Each year, organizers choose a different organization to donate to. This year’s recipient, the MERITO Foundation, protects the ocean through educational programs, conservation programs, and scientific research targeted at involving local mutli-cultural youth.

Volunteer Info

The festival needs volunteers to help make this two-day event run smoothly. Interested? As of the writing of this post, several positions remain open. They include setting up and tearing down the event, clean-up crews, alcohol checkpoints, and general help around the space. Please visit the Aloha Beach website here to sign up for a position today. Thank you.
