There are few places around the world where you can start the day in the mountains and end the day at the beach. Even fewer where this can happen in the space of a few hours on foot. Ventura County happens to be one of those place and the Mountains 2 Beach Marathon 2025 is the event that allows this to happen.

Mountains 2 Beach Marathon 2025
This unique marathon begins in the mountainous area of downtown Ojai (around 700 feet ASL) and hits sea level in just 22 miles, ending near the Ventura Pier. It also counts as a Boston Marathon qualifier (if you know, you know). But if a full marathon feels a little out of your league, you might want to opt for the half-marathon course. And for those looking for a fun way to get your steps in and up your cardio game, organizers also created a 5K and 10K course. But beware. This popular marathon sells out early. So, if you’re interested in participating, you need to sign up right now.
Ticket Info
To participate in the full marathon, it costs $185. The half-marathon costs $160. For the 5K, you pay just $60 per person while the 10K costs $95. For the more adventurous, you may bundle up races. Warm up with a 5K on Saturday before doing the full marathon on Sunday for $244. Or try the 5K/half-marathon combo for $220. Beginners may want to opt to try the 5K/10K combo for $154. So the kids won’t feel left out, there is a special 1K fun run just for them on Saturday for $26. The fun run is open to kids ages 12 and under. You may sign up to join any of the M2B races online (processing fee required).
Mermaid Month at Ventura Harbor
As you know, March is Mermaid Month at Ventura Harbor. While some things like mermaid-themed food cocktails go on all month long, this Saturday (March 22nd) marks the last day you can meet mermaids live and in person. Also, if you go this weekend, you get to watch as local artists create mermaid-inspired ice sculptures and a special kids crafting corner where kids get to create their own mermaid bracelets.
