Millions of people visit our beaches every year. Unfortunately, that means that we also see a lot of trash build up on our shores. To help that out, Ventura Harbor Village organizes a Channel Islands Beach Cleanup each year.

Help keep our beaches clean. Join the Channel Islands Beach Cleanup on September 20th near Ventura Harbor Village.

Channel Islands Beach Cleanup 2025

To participate in this year’s beach clean up, you do not have to sign up ahead of time. All you have to do is show up at the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center early on September 20th. A ranger will meet everyone at the visitor center to make sure that everyone gets geared up correctly and assigned a specific area to clean up.

Make sure you wear closed-toed shoes to protect your feet. Sunblock and a hat with a visor are highly encouraged to protect your skin while you are out in the sun. Trash bags and water will be provided. However, organizers encourage all participants to bring a bucket to put trash in instead. Also, please bring gloves and a reusable water bottle with you. All participants must sign a waiver as well.

Ventura Harbor Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

After the beach cleanup, stick around Ventura Harbor Village for some live music to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. From 1 pm to 4 pm, Vento Sur plays live at the Channel Islands Courtyard. Baja Bay Surf & Taco serves up delicious authentic Hispanic food that tastes just like the kind of food your abuelita made. Then, grab a refreshing adult beverage at Margarita Villa to wash it all down. Just make sure you bring your valid photo ID with you since you must be at least 21 years old to purchase and drink any alcoholic beverage.
